SOME very special guests helped Alison Jackson create a stir at the grand opening of the artist’s new London shop.
The Queen, Prince William and Kate Middleton caused shoppers to stop in shock when they dropped in for the opening of Alison Jackson’s new pop-up store in Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge.
Wills and Kate played up to the crowd, even taking on the role of market traders and serving the public. The shop runs from now until just after the Royal Wedding period on May 3rd.
The ‘Up the Aisle’ store sells limited edition mugs, plates, artwork and other royal memorabilia – all decorated with the inimitable Alison Jackson trademark twist.
After cutting the ribbon the happy couple mingled among their adoring fans and gave press interviews.
But it wasn’t all work and no play for the Royals. Soon it was time to hit the shop floor, with the Her Majesty the Queen reportedly looking for ‘something to put a smile on Philip’s face’.
With her pet corgi in tow, the Queen was soon busy browsing a variety of risque lingerie, with reports she described it as ‘quite the selection’.
HRH was also snapped showing her tender side, taking a short break in the changing room to show her beloved corgi some special attention.
Meanwhile Wills and Kate were also in the lingerie department in search of something to spice up their wedding night. Kate appeared less than thrilled with Wills’s choice of skimpy red attire. She may be a commoner for now, but she’s certainly got the taste of a lady in waiting.
The Royals were a hit at Harvey Nichols and even the staff took some time off to get into the spirit and wear their commemorative ‘Wills and Kate’ t-shirts.
Wedding fever has already gripped Harvey Nicks. Soon the nation. Roll on April 29th!
