Pippa’s role as a writer seems to be going from strength to strength. After the slight mishap that was Celebrate – her party planning guide that received rather mixed reviews from pundits – Pippa has landed herself some great editorial opportunities.

Don’t bother with inspecting those balls Pippa. One of those little children that run around picking them up will surely do that. They are called ‘Ball Boys’, I believe.

Recently, talking to the Mail on Sunday, Pippa has shared her knowledge with the public once more. This time discussing tennis instead of partying, Pippa seems pretty clued up on the best ways to enjoy the Wimbledon fortnight.

Learning from Pippa is always such a treat. Her position within the British establishment gives her a wealth of experience that she seems only too willing to share. Here are a few of our favourite top tennis tips from Pip…

Pippa strikes the classic Athena ‘Tennis Girl’ pose. It’s important to honour old sporting traditions, she told the Mail.

‘My chums at queen’s tell me it is customary for ladies to strike this pose after a match’, Pippa told the Mail on Sunday, ‘in an ancient ritual that dates back to the mists of the 1970s’.

Pippa obligingly demonstrated this ‘tradition’ (above) for photographers.

Pip very sensibly brought along a brolly to the photo shoot  Unfortunately, one can never trust British weather to be consistent.

Rain can be an issue at Wimbledon, Pippa told the reporter: ‘… sometimes droplets of water fall out of the sky – as I’m sure you’ve noticed!’

It is sometimes hard to understand why Pippa was ever accused of over simplifying her advice.

To save yourself getting wet, Pippa suggests, bring along an umbrella. And, if you’re not quite sure what an umbrella is, Pippa provides a helpful description – ‘a light, small, portable, usually circular cover of fabric held on a sort of collapsible frame.’

Eat strawberries with cream, says Pippa. It’s a novel idea, but absolutely scrumptious, I’m sure!

Pippa also advises punters to ‘get fruity with friends’. Of course, strawberries are readily available at Wimbledon, but Pippa suggests getting a bit creative and experimenting with a few different combinations.

‘My top tip – and this might seem weird to you – is to try [strawberries] with cream!’

Sounds good Pippa, we’ll be sure to bear that one in mind…

‘Strawberries are also served as a part of a drink called Pimm’s. It’s so packed full of fruits that my friend Octavia said it must be a health drink and quaffed six…’

Sounds great! Thanks Pip. We love your advice. It is always so straightforward and easy to follow. It’s going to be a great Wimbledon this year, we can feel it.

Training regime: Boris Johnson spent months trying to improve his fitness before taking to the court at Queen’s yesterday

The Mayor of London invited us into his local gym to show just how hard he has been working behind the scenes. Boris Johnson looked a little tired as he pounded on the cross trainer – and there was still a rather significant belly poking out from under his T-shirt.

The politician then took to the treadmill, followed by a stint on the rowing machine… Yes, Boris was taking his tennis preparation seriously.

But he wasn’t neglecting his work either. Mr Johnson showed us how he manages to read the morning paper, and watch the news, while doing his exercise.

While noone could accuse Boris of not being up-to-date with the news, though, it looks like the Mayor still has some work to do if he wants to get rid of those love-handles  - and to increase his fitness. We don’t reckon Boris will be taking on Andy Murray – or even Tiger Tim – in serious tennis matches any time soon.

The expecting duchess had to battle with the elements as she stepped out onto Southampton docks to lead the naming ceremony of the cruise ship to which she is Godmother, the Royal Princess.

Looking fabulous, as ever, in a Hobbs Dalmatian print coat, the Princess was noticeably larger since her last appearance in public.

Less than ONE MONTH TO GO now, everyone. We can’t quite believe it.

Anyway, the pregnant princess has deservedly been taking some time to unwind since beginning maternity leave. Attending all those star-studded events whilst looking that pretty and smiling that hard can really take it out of a girl.

A spa day is the perfect setting for complete relaxation, especially as you can bring along your girl friends and really revel in the indulgent experience.

‘Oh. I see that you went for a French manicure Kate – gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. Though don’t you think a union jack design would be more appropriate?’

And that is exactly what Kate did. Joined by her partner in crime, Camilla Parker Bowles, Kate has been photographed letting her hair down at a London spa.

No champagne this time though Kate, best to stick with the soft option.

Apart from the delusion of thinking that she is a ‘hair icon’ (?), the most interesting thing about this short bio is the TBD, or ‘to be determined’, at the end. If she’s already conquered pantsuits, surely there’s only the U.S. Presidency left?

Hillary has been disappointingly quiet since her first tweet, perhaps she is busy planning her campaign? If so, some more planning is needed, we’re not sure Hillary has got off to the best start.

A picture was leaked to the media just this morning showing the former FLOTUS defacing a picture of her political rival, Barack Obama. It’s not exactly a dignified way to launch a campaign.

Yes, the whole final was a total fiasco as far as Cowell is concerned. And the music mogul has taken all the negative press so badly that he seems to have convinced himself that the only solution is a permanent move to the U.S of A.

Simon Cowell even proved his commitment to moving Stateside by getting a tattoo of the American flag on his bottom yesterday afternoon, fewer than 24 hours after the disasterous BGT final.

Here at AlisonJackson.com we’re not sure what Cowell’s American fans will think of the gesture, though. They’ll likely appreciate the sentiment of Cowell getting a tattoo of the Stars and Stripes, but we can’t help thinking that he could have chosen a slightly more, ahem, diplomatic place for the tattoo than his left bum-cheek.

 ‘This definitely beats that poncey lavender stuff Camilla kept banging on about. Pass the mayo.’

Last December, it was lavender shortbread. A month ago, it was curry. This week, it’s a big juicy burger.

The now heavily pregnant Duchess of Cambridge has not had a particularly typical pregnancy, to say the least. What with her ever expanding waistline being closely monitored by much of civilisation, along with the added complications of her extreme morning sickness, AND the small fact that she is giving birth to the heir to the British throne, Kate Middleton has not been your average pregnant women.

In one respect, though, she really has been very normal – Kate has had various cravings, some more bizarre than others.

Back in December, the Daily Mail reported that Kate had been snacking on shortbread to ease the effects of her extreme morning sickness.

This wasn’t just any old shortbread though – this was lavender flavoured shortbread. Recommended to Kate by her close friend and confidant, Camilla Parker Bowles, Kate was reportedly sent heaps of the stuff by various members of the royal family.

Since then, about a month ago, it was reported that Kate had been going crazy for curry. Speaking to Chan and Hash Shingadia – the owners of the local Spar shop in Upper Bucklebury, Berkshire – the Sun revealed that the Duchess had been indulging her pregnant cravings and trying out some of Chan’s home cooking.

When discussing Kate and her pregnancy cravings, Hash said: “Yes, yes — she likes my wife’s cooking.”

This charming story was accompanied by the amusing headline, ‘Her Madrasty’. Oh, good one. Yeah. We get it.

Kate has the hots for hot food. But how spicy will she go? Vindaloo, perhaps?

One can only be so disciplined, even when one is a princess. Kate must be getting pretty hungry by this late stage as, just like all pregnant mothers, she is now eating for two.

There is nothing quite like a big burger and a plate of chips for satisfying hunger pangs; it is no wonder that Kate forgot herself earlier this week when passing a popular fast food outlet.

This royal baby is getting big. In fact there are only 5 WEEKS LEFT until it makes it’s first public appearance. We can’t wait, and we only hope that Pippa has started planning a party.

We’re unsure quite what Pippa Middleton thinks she can bring to the car rag. As far as we can see, her most memorable moment in a car is one she would probably rather forget: when her companion, Romain Rabillard, aimed a gun at photographers who were following their Audi convertible in Paris last year.
