Nicole’s Golden Globes: Kidman suffers a serious wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet

Nicole Kidman is a red carpet veteran. She has been nominated for three Oscars, one of which she won in 2002. The actress has also received 10 Golden Globes nominations and three of them were turned into trophies. However, last night Nicole showed that even experts can have a mishap.

The Aussie was nominated for two Golden Globes this year, as Best Supporting Actress in The Paperboy and Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film for her role in Hemingway & Gellhorn. She lost out to Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore – there’s no embarrassment in that, both women are fantastic. But Nicole did humiliate herself a little on the red carpet on her way into the ceremony.

The Hollywood star must have spent all morning preparing. She got her hair curled so it was more than a little reminiscent of her look in the Nineties (and she still doesn’t look a day older than she did then).  Simple make-up was also applied and Nicole wore a beautifully simple floor-length black velvet dress. She even tweeted a photo of herself doing some last-minute flossing… But all that was put to waste as photographers were only interested in one thing: her knickers.

As the 45-year-old stepped out of her limo and onto the red carpet, she must have somehow got her skirt caught in her pale blue granny pants. Initally unaware of the major fashion mishap, Kidman happily posed for the cameras until an aide noticed the problem and pulled her aside. The actress, of course, looked totally mortified and was rushed down the carpet and straight into the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA where the Golden Globes ceremony was being held.

Don’t worry, Nicole. Getting your skirt tucked into your knickers is easily done. Besides, all wardrobe malfunctions are forgotten eventually, right Janet Jackson?
