The Duchess of Cambridge has cancelled all of her public engagements recently as she continues to suffer from chronic morning sickness. But her mother in law, the Duchess of Cornwall knew just how to put a smile back onto Kate’s face. She whisked the mum-to-be out for a speedy spot of retail therapy… and it wasn’t Christmas shopping she had in mind.
Spotted in a well known department store, on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, it seemed Camilla couldn’t contain the excitement of becoming a grandmother again and couldn’t wait to buy all the little bits and bobs a new-born heir to the throne would need.

Kate broke the news of her pregnancy almost two weeks ago after she was taken to the King Edward VII hospital following severe sickness brought on by the early stages of pregnancy.
‘I don’t think it’s big enough for the crown dear’ – Camilla assures Kate that she will need something bigger for the royal baby
Although she had not yet reached the 12 week mark, which is normally the time parents announce a pregnancy, St James’s Palace decided it best to explain the reason for the Duchess’ admission to hospital to deter public speculation.
Dragging Kate (who still looked a little delicate) around the store, step-granny Camilla seemed intent on buying all the essentials for her daughter-in-law including the pram and some very cute Babygrows.
The two seemed to be really enjoying their trip together, laughing and playing around with teddy bears and baby toys. And Camilla couldn’t help but hint at her preference for a little baby girl by fawning over lots of pretty pink outfits.
We are sure the excitement has just begun for Kate, William and their families and that there will plenty more shopping trips on the agenda. However Camilla, who already has four grandchildren is well versed at the role of doting elder, and will be sure to spoil the little prince or princess rotten.
