EXCLUSIVE: The video Rolf Harris wishes would disappear

Australian musician, painter and TV presenter Rolf Harris is desperately trying to be considered a serious artist these days, and it seems to be working. A solo exhibition of his newest works is opening in London’s swanky Mayfair today. But a new video has revealed that Rolf hasn’t always been quite as disciplined in his work as he is now.

Blank canvas: Rolf Harris gets ready to paint a speedy piece of work

The grainy video shows the children’s favourite painting a picture on a huge white board – to a soundtrack of his classic tune Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport.

Although the video is filmed from behind, you can just catch a glimpse of the artist’s trademark colourful shirt and oversized glasses – both of which are now curiously on trend. Who’d have thought it?

Can you guess what it is yet? The kangaroo starts taking shape

Rolf paints seemingly random thick black lines on the white board and gradually they start to form a cute picture of a kangaroo.

However, Mr Harris doesn’t stop painting when the picture is complete. Adding an extra flourish proves just a little too tempting.

It’s all coming together: The picture’s almost finished. But will Rolf be able to resist the temptation to make it a little bit rude?

Irresistible: Rolf puts some finishing touches to his kangaroo picture

Perhaps Rolf has spent too much of his adult life around children? He seems to have adopted their tendency to adorn pictures with crude outlines of penises.

Here at AlisonJackson.com we’re just glad we’re not the only ones with a sometimes childish sense of humour.
